it's seuss, snitches - 5.1.2007
this parody is the product of a "challenge" over dinner that went REALLY wrong. a bunch of us were at shanghai cafe for dinner, and we were discussing a link i had in my status message earlier that day. i had posted swizz beatz's "it's me, snitches" music video so that people could enjoy its profound lyrics. kyle then said "someone should make a dr seuss rap". that someone was me. enjoy, snitches.

get your freak on(booty mix) - 10.3.2005
i wanted to see how fast i could throw together a remix if i had an acapella track, and thus came this remix... it took me about an hour or so to write the bg music for this and then layer the vocals on top of it... you can tell at points that it was rushed and unmastered ^_^;; oh well

chris john is hardCO!! - 3.1.2005
this was a parody that phil and i came up with when we were working on 'my love is hardcore', which we never completed ^_^;; anyway, sorry for any pain that your ears might receive...

rush the exit - 1.26.2005
motivated after buying 'goldeneye rogue agent' (soundtrack by PAUL OAKENFOLD!!!), i decided to compose my own bond-esque track. i wrote this with a bond-style chase scene in mind. i'm still waiting for a film to use it in ^_^;;

stop time 4 me(maura mix) - 1.17.2005
i made this song for maura shortly before we started dating... she was into techno/trance so i decided to do this trancey original for her. i might remix this in a different style in the future...

holiday anthem - 1.7.2005
this project is pretty embarrassing ^_^;; it was my futile and rushed attempt to create my first early 90's hip-hop remix. it sucked. instrumentation is great, but vocals sucked. it's a remix of madonna's holiday

wham - last christmas(cover) - 12.25.2004
here is another example of my great instrumental/poor vocals-type projects. as my sister christina puts it, 'it sounds like a boy singing in the corner'. christina -- i hate you.

dan tran quartet - desert nights - 11.29.2004
ever since my high school band played an arrangement of duke ellington's 'caravan', i fell in love with the song. for my 'history of jazz' final project, i decided to do a modern jazz cover of it. the trumpet part is actually me playing on my broken 12-yr old trumpet... bass, piano and percussion were all electronically synthesized. i'm proud of this one ^_^;;

no turning back - 11.18.2004
this was the title theme to a game that john haggerty, lindsey berard, laura kaplan, matt loehr and i worked on called 'delirium' for our 'design of interactive characters' course. you'll hear it in background of our 'delirium' trailers in the video section of this page

skywalker's theme - 10.28.2004
one of the first projects we had in 'design of interactive characters' was to create an original character to place in lucasarts' 'grim fandango'. john haggerty and i decided to create a character named skywalker who was a half-assed drug-dealer. he had a light-saber bong, which is why he's called skywalker. his theme comprises of two star wars songs, which i remixed into a late-80's/early 90's hip-hop style. can you guess which ones?

strangled by fear - 10.12.2004
this is one of the best originals that i've ever done. it has a very dark feel to it, and i love the type of ambience that it creates. it was made to fuel rich lee's inspiration to create a game design document for a game concept he had. sadly, "richard lee's deviant" never came into existance ^_^;; i ended up using it in my 'design of interactive characters' project, 'delirium', which was a similar genre to rich's

santa esmerelda - please don't let me be misunderstood(8-bit remix) - 9.25.2004
"OH LORD, PLEASE DON'T LET ME BE MISUNDERSTOOD..." brings back great memories of kill bill... another song used by me and john haggerty in our kill bill video game project

tomoyasu hotei - battle without honor or humanity(8-bit remix) - 9.24.2004
john haggerty and i took a gaming course at rpi called 'design of interactive characters' and one of our projects was to choose a movie or tv show or book to translate into a video game. we chose to use 'kill bill', and in a spur of inspiration, i did a couple of nes-esque 8-bit remixes, starting with the kill bill theme

dan tran acoustic - everlong - 9.10.2004
almost everybody i know loves this foo fighter's classic. it wasn't too hard to play so i decided to do an acoustic cover of it. this was the first song in my acoustic series

xenogears - dajil(street urchin mix) - 5.25.2004
this song was a LOT of fun to mix... i didn't change the form much from the original song, but instead did a cover of it with an urban hip-hop style... it was done for pete's radio show on wrpi

paragon - 3.1.2004 - 4.1.2004
paragon was an awesome game idea that my team and i worked on in 'experiment game design' back at RPI. one of the key concepts was a dynamic personality generation engine, where each character in the game, both NPC and otherwise, had its personality randomly created. your conversations with the characters would change accordingly, as would many other things, such as the decisions that are available to you. this would make every playthrough completely unique. super experimental. super undoable from a 'company-for-profit' point of view. i wrote the conversation engine, as well as the sound code (both in c++) and of course composed these tracks.

[extra.life] - spring 2004
this is a techno-trance-electronica album that i was commissioned to create for rpi's first annual game fest, 2004. i took a handful of my favorite old school video game tracks, trying to find songs that weren't commonly remixed or covered and adding a funkdat twist to them... enjoy!

parasite eve - theme of aya(powerhouse mix)
personally, this is one of my favorite songs from the parasite eve soundtrack. both parasite eve i and ii were worth playing btw. a very refreshing take on rpgs ;p

This is kind of a satire of the original dragon warrior i battle theme, which was teh suck.

mega man iii - spark man's theme(let the sparks fly mix)
mMost of the other themes on the mega man ii soundtrack were already heavily remixed, and i thought that this hidden gem was worth a spin...

tetris - game a theme(block party mix)
okay, so this song is fairly well remixed, but i've always wanted to do a remix of this song... in fact, a rave remix of it helped motivate me to start remixing to begin with ;p

street fighter ii - ken's theme(street revival mix)
this is the first, and in my opinion best, remix of this lot. this marked the beginning of my short-lived radio career (i was regularly played in two radio shows) and relaunched my dj'ing and remixing ;)

the thrillseekers - synaesthesia(new chapter remix) - 12.20.2003
although it might not sound it, this was the product of a lot of pent-up angst after breaking up with shannon... it was such a powerful release of energy that i went into a bit of shock afterwards... don't get me wrong -- i was way happy hahaha ^_^;; it's just that all-in-all, no matter how bad a relationship was, being single again is an immense change. anyway, i really love the original song, and i hope to one day polish this up and get a female vocalist to sing it
