lots of things have happened since my last post. here are a few key items (not really in chronological order):

10.18.2006 - sausagefest IV. maura DIDN'T show up but Jim's gf Tara DID, so again, it wasn't a true sausagefest. we made up for it by ordering an ultimate sausage pizza or something like that. pics will be coming soon.

10.24.2006 - participated in the lld timer's game for my company. us young timer's won again, for the fourth or fifth year in a row ;)

10.27.2006 - halloween party at larry b's place. pics to come.

i've done a tremendous amount of work for one "start-up" that a friend of mine was working on. through this project, i've learned how to use php and mysql, and I've also learned how to use paypal's api. the project is almost done, needing just a tui touch-up ;)

i've also enlisted myself on another start-up project, this one much more of a real start-up. it involves using a lot of technologies that i want to get to know better, so it's very exciting to me. i can't speak much about it (NDA-ish) but this will be something huge, methinks.

and since everything comes in threes, i've also added myself to another start-up team. this one deals with a lot of technologies that the other two deal with, so it's a good opportunity for me to nail down some more skills, like ruby and ajax. i've also never really had to use css or any newer html standards, so i'm looking forward to using those. this project is slightly on the backburner for me, as the projects listed above are more time-sensitive, and have smaller teams.

i had the in-house CFA exam, which i didn't pass, but got high enough where my company will pay for updated study guides and i can take the in-house again in 6 months (yay!). it was mostly due to doing too much at once... which seems to be a recurring theme in my life ;p

my summer beach volleyball team actually won 2nd place. we had a terrible season, but someone was placed into a bonus round of the tournament. we then had a winning streak that led us to the division c finals, which we almost forfeited, since only me and two other people showed up. everyone else was busy, since it was the beginning of recruiting season =*(. oh well. what a streak!

i beat dead rising, getting a few of the endings. i took the game as far as obtaining the buster gun (mega man's buster cannon!), which took quite awhile, but that's about it. the game is really fun, but quite time consuming ;p
